Description

The IAG 600 Short Block is engineered for stock or modified FA20 Subaru BRZ/FT86 engines that need a stronger foundation to support higher cylinder pressures from modifications or aftermarket turbo kits. Featuring IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods and race-grade bearings, this short block reliably handles loads that stock rods and pistons cannot.

Each IAG 600 Short Block starts with brand-new FA20 2.0L, 86mm stock bore engine case halves, carefully bored and honed to 86.1mm. The block is assembled with a 2015+ Subaru FA20 crankshaft, matched to ACL or King race main bearings. IAG Spec H-Beam connecting rods with ARP2000 rod bolts and ACL or King race rod bearings complete the bottom end. The case halves are sealed with OEM main bolts and sealant, and finished with carefully selected JE FSR 86.1mm forged pistons.

To ensure reliable lubrication under increased loads, internal oil passages are inspected and modified for optimal flow, addressing limitations of the stock FA20 cases.

The IAG 600 Short Block uses JE FSR 2618 T6 Alloy forged pistons, engineered for high-strength and reduced mass. Asymmetrical skirts reduce friction and weight, while smooth dome and dish radii promote excellent flame travel. Pistons are secured with .905 x 2.250″ x .150″ carbon steel wrist pins and Tru Arc locks. This block comes with a 12.5:1 compression ratio, ideal for low boost or stock applications.
