IAG’s Beehive Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Set is designed to reduce valvetrain mass while significantly increasing spring pressure, allowing for higher boost levels and increased RPM capability over stock components. By reducing valvetrain weight by up to 68 grams, this setup improves stability and control at high engine speeds. Engineered for compatibility with all Subaru EJ20 and EJ25 engines, it is an ideal upgrade for mild to aggressive street builds, road racing, and drag racing applications.

This valve spring set provides 92 lbs of seat pressure at 1.340 inches and 241 lbs of open pressure at 0.893 inches, delivering the control needed to prevent valve float under demanding conditions. The increased spring pressure ensures consistent valve operation at elevated RPMs, helping maintain reliability and performance when pushing your engine beyond factory limits.

Upgrading to titanium retainers offers substantial performance benefits compared to traditional steel retainers. Titanium is significantly lighter, which reduces inertia in the valvetrain and allows the engine to rev higher without losing control. IAG’s precision-machined titanium retainers evenly distribute spring load across their surface, reducing stress concentrations and the risk of failure at high RPM. The reduced mass above the valves also contributes to smoother, more precise valvetrain motion, improving overall engine efficiency and durability.

Each IAG Beehive Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Set includes 16 beehive valve springs manufactured from high-quality ovate chrome silicone alloy steel, chosen for its strength and resistance to extreme shock loads. The set also includes 16 lightweight titanium retainers that are precision-machined in-house at IAG’s U.S. facility. Together, these premium materials ensure long-term durability and consistent performance in high-RPM environments.

This spring and retainer combination is the same setup used in IAG’s 950 cylinder head packages found in their 950 EJ25 long blocks, which are rated for up to 950 horsepower. The set is suitable for stock replacement as well as use with Stage 1–3 camshafts in mild to aggressive street, road race, and drag racing applications. For safe and reliable operation, engine speed should not exceed 9,000 RPM when using this valve spring and retainer set.
